Key facts

Factry Historian at a glance

From official sources · checked October 21, 2026

What it is[1, 3]
Industrial data platform to capture, store and analyze time-series data from OT systems, with an asset hierarchy, calculations, automatic event detection (batches, CIP cycles, downtime) and manual entry forms.
Pricing model[1, 2]
One flat fee per production site, with unlimited users, tags, collectors and integrations. Standard, Advanced and Enterprise tiers; Historian prices are not published (FactryOS MES starts from €15,000/year). A guided proof of concept is offered.
Data collection[3, 5, 2, 1]
Collectors for OPC UA, OPC DA, MQTT (JSON and Sparkplug B), Modbus TCP, Siemens S7, SQL and REST APIs. Collectors store and forward: they buffer data on disk during network outages. High availability is supported.
Storage[3, 4]
InfluxDB (v1.x and v2.x supported) holds time-series data such as measurements and calculations; PostgreSQL holds configuration, metadata and events.
Deployment[1, 2, 9]
On-premises, in a corporate data center (hub-and-spoke to sites) or in the cloud; runs on practically any Linux OS. A Docker Compose setup is published for local evaluation.
Grafana & outputs[6, 7, 3]
Official Grafana datasource plugin, maintained by Factry and open source (Apache-2.0), with asset browsing and event overlays. Also a Seeq connector, Excel add-in, MQTT (Sparkplug B) output, Parquet export and an OpenAPI-documented REST API.
Ignition connector[8]
Native Ignition module: tags marked for historization in Ignition are collected automatically, with local store-and-forward and bi-directional queries back into Ignition.
